Frequently Asked Questions

Integrative medicine is a patient-focused, healing-oriented medicine that takes account the whole person. It includes all aspects of a patient’s lifestyle and uses a blend of western and alternative medicines to reach optimal health and healing.  Roots Integrative Medicine is located in Marble Falls, Texas.  Dr. Saxton and her team strive to identify and treat the root cause of the problem and use a whole-body approach to healing: lifestyle, diet and supplements mixed with conventional and cutting-edge medical therapies. We specialize in keeping patients healthy with natural treatments when possible. In addition to treating illnesses, we practice preventative medicine—helping patients optimize health, vitality, and longevity.

Roots Integrative Medicine does not contract with any insurance carriers or Medicare. Although we do not accept insurance as a direct payment for our services, our office will gladly provide you with a superbill/code and you may be able to be reimbursed from your insurance provider directly. There are no guarantees of coverage by any services through Roots Integrative Medicine.  Medicare will not reimburse for these visits and visits cannot be submitted to Medicare for reimbursement. We can bill insurance and Medicare for routine blood work and some specialty tests though.

N0. You do not have to be an established patient at our clinic to receive IV therapies.  Please contact us and we will be happy to get everything arranged for your first IV.

If you have questions and would like to consult with a physician regarding the different IV options prior to getting started with IV treatments, we would be happy to schedule a 30 minute ($150) “IV Therapy Consult”. This is intended to help answer any questions you have and create a plan optimizing IV Therapy for your health.

We are a fee for service cash pay practice and do not accept any insurance. A new patient visit with the doctor is currently $500 and follow up visits are $275. IV therapies range depending on the IV (please see the IV tab for more information).  Treatment plans, additional lab testing, imaging, IV therapies, etc may be recommended. These are not covered in the appointment fees and costs vary per patients’ individual treatment plan.

Quick care appointments are 30 minutes, and the fee is $150.

For urgent or life-threatening illnesses, please go to the urgent care or ER immediately. Often, our patient schedule is fully booked for the day, but for non-urgent conditions that require a same day visit, please message through the portal, or call and we will do our best to get you on the provider’s schedule. If the provider’s schedule is full there is an “after hours” option. After hours fees apply. The after-hour fee for all ½ hour visits is $200.

We have a 24-hr. cancellation policy for any provider appointment as we reserve this time on our schedule specifically for you. If you cancel your appointment in less than 24 hours/no-show, you will be charged a $100 no show fee.  We generally can accommodate arriving late to the visit, but we cannot extend the appointment time. Please always arrive a few minutes early to maximize your appointment time.  We will do our very best to run on time and you will be notified if the provider is running a few minutes late.

For IV therapies that are canceled the same day/no-show there is also a $100 fee. We mix your specific supplies/medicines for your IV that morning before 8am. If you cancel/no show, we have to waste/discard those IV supplies and medicines.

For EBOO that is canceled within 48 hours/no show there will be a $250 fee.

We use Power2Patient.com as the patient portal. An invitation to create your portal will be emailed to you when you first schedule your visit.  This is the main method we use for patient communication, appointment reminders, managing patient documents, uploading labs/orders, and obtaining consent forms for treatments. If you have any questions with Power2patient, please let us know and we will be happy to help.
